Jamaica To Launch Tax Information Exchange Office

Jamaica To Launch Tax Information Exchange Office: "The Jamaican government has announced that it will soon launch an Exchange of Information Office (EIO) to ensure the territory deals with tax information requests efficiently and in a timely manner, and also to bolster the nation's own tax enforcement efforts against non-compliant domestic taxpayers.

According to the government's proposals, the introduction of a structured EIO within Jamaica’s Tax Administration "will allow Jamaica to benefit from tax information that can be received from other tax jurisdictions on income earned by domestic taxpayers overseas to ensure all tax liable is paid. Likewise, Jamaica will be able to reciprocate to provide its tax partners with information on their residents earning income in Jamaica.""
