Jamaica training workers for foreign nations - Semaj - Lead Stories - Jamaica Gleaner - Wednesday | November 7, 2012: "MORE AND more persons are looking overseas for job opportunities to avoid the stress of dealing with the critical shortage of employment opportunities in Jamaica.

According to head of the Job Bank, Dr Leahcim Semaj, it is an avenue graduates of tertiary institutions have been looking to for years, as it is easier to find employment overseas.

Chairman of the Jamaica Employers' Federation, Wayne Chen, told The Gleaner on the weekend that the prospect of finding jobs for tertiary graduates currently in the formal sector is "not wonderful".

Chen said graduates should not rule out going overseas to seek employment, even if it is for the short term, to broaden their horizons and learn new skills."
