The asset acquisition includes freehold property and trademarks, among other assets, which will allow Salada to sell juice products, but the coffee company did not specify its ownership stake.
A new subsidiary, Mountain Peak Processors Limited, was formed as the vehicle to facilitate the acquisition, a notice to the Jamaica Stock Exchange stated.
Salada told Wednesday Business that it acquired the assets in order to diversify its product range in the agro-processing sector. This is in an effort to foster growth in both the local and export markets, it said."
