October start date for north-south link - Lead Stories - Jamaica Gleaner - Wednesday | July 25, 2012: "CONSTRUCTION OF the multibillion-dollar north-south link of Highway 2000, spanning Caymanas in St Catherine to Ocho Rios in St Ann, will get under way in October and is set for completion by September 2015.
Managing Director of the National Road Operating and Constructing Company (NROCC) Ivan Anderson said the US$600 million (J$54 billion) project has been divided into three sections with the first phase projected for completion in September next year.
Section one of the project spans Caymanas to the start of Mount Rosser while the second phase is confined to the Mount Rosser bypass. Section three covers Moneague to Ocho Rios."
