Donating life insurance to charity - Business - Jamaica Gleaner - Sunday | July 22, 2012

Donating life insurance to charity - Business - Jamaica Gleaner - Sunday | July 22, 2012: "'m seeking further clarity on how life insurance donated to charity can be used as a form of tax break to the donor, and can I have more than one beneficiary on this policy?

For example, I have a life insurance policy valued at J$15m; my beneficiaries are:

1. Salvation Army: Charity (30 per cent)

2. Peta: Daughter (70 per cent)

And when a property is gifted to a charity, does my daughter lose out on gaining that property?

Looking forward to your early and detailed response."
