400% increase in applications for UDC’s Tax Incentive Programme | RJR News - Jamaican News Online: "The Urban Development Corporation, UDC, is reporting a significant increase in applications for benefits under its Tax Incentive Programme.

According to the state-run entity, between 2008 and this year applications were up 400 percent.

Beneficiaries over the period include GraceKennedy, Digicel, JN General Insurance, Jamaica Teas and the Jamaica Public Service Company.

Under the Tax Incentive Programme, tax relief is offered to companies or individuals undertaking capital investments in either land or buildings.

Tax incentives are offered to both owners and lessees of  property in Special Development Areas.

The four incentives offered are Urban Renewal Bonds, Investment Tax Credit, Tax Free Rental Income and Exemption from Transfer Tax."
