Prime Minister Portia Simpson Miller this morning (May 07) launched the 2012 Labour Day/ Workers' Week activities and urged Jamaicans to show how much they care for the nation by joining in the national effort under the theme Step Forward...Make Jamaica Beautiful.
Underscoring the significance of this year's Labour Day as the country marks its 50th year of independence, the Prime Minister invited everyone to get involved and make this Labour Day the best ever by heeding the call to care for our country, our communities, our environment, our people. In keeping with the theme, the Prime Minister urged communities to undertake projects of cleaning up and beautification including parks, and play areas for children.
